Je me souviens encore de ce mois de juin 2011, quand je tombais sur une chronique ne tarissant pas d'éloges sur Antagonist, premier album du one-man band slovène Neurotech. Je me suis jeté dessus. La magie a opéré tout de suite. Wulf déploie une énergie incroyable : la batterie au rythme mécanique, le piano à la grandeur glaciale et robotique, le cyber metal flirtant avec la techno... tout est bon ! Le seul bémol est le chant de Wulf, manquant de nuances. Mais pour le reste, exceptionnel !!

Fantasque & Fantastique ! I love RandomWalk. I cannot think of any other group sounding like them. The closest you could get is a combination of Divercia, Oceans of Sadness, Mercenary and fresh garlic. Well, while randomly starting the album, I envisioned an extreme version of RandomWalk, and my heart beat faster. I drink decaf' coffee. Zornheym may not know any of the cited groups. Like them, they created a unique flavour of metal.

Atten Ash ne précise pas la couleur du sablier qui fait l'objet de son premier album : à mon avis, il doit être bleu parce que The Hourglass fait remonter le temps. Le trio américain rend un hommage plus qu'évident au death/doom metal mélodique des années 90. Bien que vigoureux ("See You...Never"), les riffs n'en sont pas moins émouvant, flirtant parfois avec une atmosphère funéraire ("Song for the Dead", "First Day") sans jamais tomber dans le pathos facile. Les solos sont extraordinaires !

An interesting fusion of black metal and jazz, with inspiration from various other forms of metal. There is a lot to like here, and many pleasant surprises. However, it does not always seem to form a cohesive whole.
